Smart sprinter The Odyssey claimed a big scalp when he resumed a winner and looks well placed to do it again in Saturday’s Weetwood Handicap at Toowoomba.
The Kelly Schweida-trained entire proved too slick for star galloper Alligator Blood when he led throughout for a win at Doomben a fortnight ago.
The Odyssey is drawn to go forward again and the longer trip won't trouble him as he has won six of 11 attempts at 1200m.
Stephanie Thornton has built a strong association with The Odyssey having won five of seven rides on him and ratings suggest the pair will take beating again.
Capable filly The Actuary should relish a step up in distance when she tackles the Toowoomba Guineas earlier in the program.
The three-year-old settled last when resuming in the city but made ground in the straight to finish midfield.
That was her first run since a Listed win in The Phoenix in her only attempt at this distance back in June.
The Actuary will strip much fitter second up and looks to have found a suitable assignment.
