Two trial wins will have capable sprinter Ruuca ready to strike first up at Doomben on Saturday.
The Team Edmonds gelding raced in better company last campaign and was last seen when beaten just 2.7L in the Group 3 Gold Coast Guineas.
Ruuca has been gelded since then and he has won one of his two tries on a wet track, the defeat coming in the Group 1 Coolmore Stakes in Melbourne.
He is proven fresh and will be tuned up by his two trial wins at Gold Coast so should be ready to fire.
Honest mare Okanagan Miss is worth an each way gamble at juicy odds later in the program.
She gave a big sight when she led and fought strongly to go down by just a head over a similar trip at Ipswich last start.
She rates well off that performance and had won three off her previous five so is racing well enough to be in the finish again.
