The G1 races of the Perth Summer Carnival start next week but there are some nice G3s this Saturday.

Ascot Picture: Racing and Sports

One of those is WA Champion Fillies and legendary owner Bob Peters earmarks this race with many of his elite fillies.

Just in the last six years he's won it with Tuscan Queen, Arcadia Queen, Perfect Reflection and Delicacy.

Well they have another in the form of Magical Dream who races like a miler and this would suit.

She was near last in the Burgess Queen beaten under 3L and does handle softer going if that occurs.

The two that beat her home then are well drawn and she will give them a start but maybe this track plays toward getting home with the rail out.

Suspecting they will come for those colours as they often do.

Anything could win the Colonel Reeves Stakes in the following race but at value we will be playing Flirtini.

This mare had a so so campaign in the middle of the year taking on some good sprinters.

She always runs well when resuming, is so well drawn to sit just off the pace and has been readied with a trial win.

If the track is on the softer side, that will not cause her a moment's worry either.
