Godolphin gelding Phaistos heads to his third state this campaign in search of a winnable race and looks to have found it at Doomben on Saturday.
His three runs this time in have been in stakes company and all have been good efforts.
He kicked off the campaign in Victoria with a second in the Listed Weekend Hussler at Caulfield before placing in the Sale Cup.
Phaistos was last seen in the Group 3 Festival Stakes at Rosehill where was held up for a run but kept finding the line to get within 1.7L of the winner.
He tries this trip for the first time but will be peaking fourth up and looks well placed.
Red Chase has been a model of consistency this campaign and gets his chance for a stakes win in the last event of the day, the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes.
The Desleigh Forster-trained gelding scored at this track and distance two back then ran into winning machine The Harrovian in the Listed Recognition.
He is building a good record at Doomben and with some question marks over his main rivals he is reliable and worth a bet.
