Best From The West: Bunbury – 6th March 2021

3 minute read

It is a day of Listed racing at Bunbury on a Saturday out of town and it includes the Bunbury Cup.

Bunbury

While some good horses have won the Cup in the past, we'll leave that race alone with a $1.65 shot engaged.

The Bunbury Stakes before that will be a great betting race and the Pinjarra Classic sets up much of the form. That was a blanket go with rough results so might pay to avoid that.

With that in mind Last Of The Line comes through different form winning regularly at Ascot including the Detonator Stakes two weeks ago.

He is back 400m but from a good gate can sit just off the pace much of the way and his strength will be important.

With form away from the same old suspects, we can back him and save on Dig Deep who also comes through varying form races.

Earlier the Breeders Classic is a really good contest between some lovely 3yos.

There are three main hopes and we might split the difference taking the outsider of them in Magical Dream.

This filly has had nearly two months off since being heavily backed and charging over the top of rivals at Ascot.

She had previously won the Belgravia, placed in the Burgess Queen and closed off strongly in the WA Champion Fillies to just miss the placings.

Hoping that the two atop the betting are marking each other's moves and Pat Carbery can have last shot at them. She will be strong late.
