Crystal Warrior To Strike At Kranji

3 minute read

The Jason Lim trained Crystal Warrior appears very well placed in his Singapore when due to contest the penultimate event at Singapore on Saturday.

Only a recent addition to Lim's stable, Crystal Warrior was previously trained by Team Guy in Queensland [Old Name: I Am Swerving].

A winner of two of his eight starts, Crystal Warrior displayed good ability and left Australian shores on a winning note when leading throughout at Doomben.

Having started his career with Team Hawkes he was Group 3 placed at his second start when finishing third behind Prague in the Pago Pago Stakes.

Shipped north for his 3YO season Crystal Warrior broke through for his maiden win on debut for Team Guy and was rated 90 by Timeform at his last success.

Off the scene for 214 days he looks well set up for his Singapore debut with two impressive trials under the belt.

Sporting the blinkers at his second trial Crystal Warrior did it easily under Danny Beasley leading throughout to score by close to seven lengths.

He broke the minute mark for the 1000m and the blinkers stay on for Saturday.

Danny Beasley continues his association with the three-year-old and is expected to have little trouble finding the front from the rails draw.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he looks very well treated and with even luck he should be winning.

The Shane Baertschiger trained Maceo won well first up and shapes as the main danger.

Sent out at 15-1, Maceo defied the betting drift when too strong on-speed over 1200m.

Only lightly raced he has won two of eight starts and while rising 2.5kg at the weights he still appears well treated and has to be respected.

The Kuah trained Winning Spirit was game behind Maceo last start and if able to repeat that level of performance he again shouldn't be far away.

Of the rest the Ricardo Le Grange trained Yes One Ball appears the next in line.

A handy winner last start in Class 5 company he appears capable of taking that next step.

Good luck and happy punting.
