Brisbane Best: Doomben – 24th April 2021

3 minute read

Progressive sprinter Skins looks well placed to build on a blossoming record when he lines up at Doomben of Saturday.

David Vandyke's lightly-raced five-year-old made a winning return after five months on the sidelines when running on and drawing right away for an easy win at this course over 1110m.

That gave him four wins from just six outings and he should only be improved by it.

Skins looks even better suited by the longer trip and Ryan Maloney sticks having scored three wins and a placing in four rides on the gelding.

He draws the inside gate and looks bound for better things.

Howwonderfullifeis looks worth an each way gamble at long odds earlier in the program.

She raced on speed and boxed on when fourth at Eagle Farm last time and won her last visit to Doomben three back.

That gave her a record here of two wins and two wins from five attempts and she has a win and a placing from her only two tries at this distance.

It won't be an easy task but she gets in light after the 3kg claim and ratings say she can give a sight.
