We are quickly into the Winter racing period but the big field carry over from the carnival still remains.
And while taking a much hyped but less delivered horse as your best can lead you into those depths, we think Fall On A Star has now gotten the necessary confidence to build on her first win.
This former Kris Lees trained daughter of Zoustar had only run in black type races as a 2/3yo and never hit any heights despite being touted with good ability.
She moved south and after a first up defeat, she was so dominant leading all the way at Gawler.
Given those tactics had never been used before, you'd expect that would be a good practice again now.
From a nice alley she can be up with the speed and can now go on with it but in the big field should get a better price.
In the following race, which is an open one, we fancied Field Of Roses who was providing good value.
But with it now out, there was another at each way odds with a chance and that is Dr Dee Dee.
He had been battling away going up and down in distances but really the mile is his best go.
That was shown just last week when winning at Murray Bridge and like that he backs up now.
He is a tough gelding who gets a nice claim making it a winnable weight again.
