Not huge numbers racing at Belmont on Saturday as most are likely at home watching the Sherrin fly.

There is a stakes race on the card and one horse really came of age last preparation.

Laverrod has a tennis name and he certainly served up plenty of aces through the Victorian campaign.

Good efforts in sprint races were followed by deserved wins in the Hareeba Stakes and the VOBIS Gold Sprint when William Pike took over.

Well the champion rider is back on when he resumes at home in the Black Heart Bart Stakes and he's very well suited at the Set Weights and Penalties scale.

Pike will probably have him sitting just off the pace here from the draw in a field filled with first uppers. He can charge over these.

For the value, in the following race Vintage Stock has put in two good performances from a spell.

She worked home strongly over the mile and then did much the same over the 2000m, both runs were here.

Now third up, the daughter of Tavistock should be primed and looking for firmer ground this time. It is positive that she has been commendable on Soft 6 going.

Look for her to be back, nearer the inside, perhaps around midfield and getting home well. Seems a good each way play on Saturday.
