We are not far away from the really important parts of the Perth Summer Carnival kicking off.

The Belgravia Stakes is the main race on the Ascot program this week where it is a big field of 3yos coming in with many a past 2yo form angle.

Many of them come through the 3yo Classic run two weeks back won by Liwa which was a bit of a messy race so happy to look elsewhere.

That comes in the form of It'Sarayday who remains unbeaten either side of a Winter spell.

This bloke was very short at Northam and did a couple of things wrong but showed his true ability.

He looks like he'd be better suited at the 1200m of the Belgravia so need him to jump well and be ahead of the second half of the field.

There is some nice progress to be made by him and this is a good place to start.

Earlier in the day, as part of a huge book of rides for William Pike again, Pure Devotion can get back to winning ways in Race 3.

Here is a mare who was good enough as a 3yo to place in the 1000 Guineas, Natasha Stakes and WA Oaks earlier this year.

Even though she was beaten at odds on in the Oaks she gave away a big start and didn't miss by much.

First up she again was way back in the field and closed off to be under two lengths off the winner at 1400m.

Another furlong on Saturday plus the smaller field means she won't have big traffic problems nor need to exert huge amounts of energy to close up.

Reckon the So You Think in her will kick in over the concluding stages and she can win second up again.
