They run the traditional (well sort of) Oakbank Easter carnival this year and it’s flat racing all the way.
There is a Listed race to at least satisfy some thirsts and happy to have Rock The Ring as one of our plays in that Railway Stakes.
He was right there to challenge in the Manihi Classic but just hold on and it was behind a very good horse who is group class and that one did start 5-1 in a G1 WFA sprint last October.
This does appear the perfect distance for him and now fitter, he is well placed to use his speed then hold on late. It's barely black type standard so to be one over the limit is a positive.
Just need Barend Vorster to get him out of the gates humming along but he has drawn wide before and been perched on the speed.
Back to much earlier in the day, the same combination of Vorster with the McEvoys sees Silent Sovereign the one to beat in the mares races.
She ran plenty of good races through last year winning metro events and running well in black type. They even gave her a shot at the Sandown Classic.
First up, with obviously less fitness on her, she battled away well at Bendigo. This race is easier.
Even though you can see her better over further, she won't need to produce a huge effort here.
