Adelaide’s G1 carnival of racing is about to begin and some sprinting features are on show.
We'll take one of them as the best as Godolphin have a team heading west and that includes Bacchanalia coming off excellent NSW form.
The son of Exceed And Excel graduated to take out a Gosford Guineas at the end of 2021 and returned with an excellent effort behind Mazu.
That is ultimately good form and holding him back from taking on the big boys for a little while longer could prove very successful.
He can sit around midfield with plenty of cover from the chute start and when eased wide can unleash.
The market at present is giving hopes to others who have not met the class he has so far.
Back to the maiden earlier in the day and while that seems a tough race to be offering a play in, Topeka is good value in Race 3.
This filly has been competitive in maidens in Victoria and just found a few better every time but this race is nothing like those.
In many of them she has been in the betting and shown enough ability but there is a change now.
The McEvoys have brought her across the border and importantly applied the blinkers so expecting good improvement.
Unfortunately we missed the early price which was double what it is now but she's still each way value.
