Neena Rock wins 2014 McGrath Est. Agents Angst Stks Group 3 $125,000 at Randwick (NSW) 4yo+ Mares, 1600m.
Neena Rock settled down in fifth position one out with a trail in a quickly run race. She made a three wide move approaching the home turn and was hampered on the point of the home turn. She balanced up after the trouble and quickened up smartly getting to Estonian Princess at the 150m before putting her head in front at the 100m and holding on to score.
Estonian Princess was away quickly from the gates to lead at a good speed. She was taken on in the middle stages by Chintz who was trapped three wide and moved up to second. The leader kicked strongly on turning for home putting a break on the field, drawing away at the 300m. She was headed at the 100m but fought back to just go under. A very good effort.
Danesiri settled down second last on the fence about ten lengths from the leader. She travelled strongly approaching the home turn making good ground three wide. She was hampered on turning behind the interference between the winner and Bouzy Rouge. She then came between runners late on to grab third right on the line. An even effort.
