Federal wins 2015 South Pacific Classic Listed $150,000 at Randwick (NSW) 3yo, 1400m.
Favourite Federal settled in fourth place, between runners, travelling well. He eased across heels and into clear running at the 300m, sprinted to the lead at the 100m and went on to win in decisive fashion.
Snake Charmer led and steadied the pace (first 800m 49.06). She briefly got a break on the field at the 200m but had no answer to the winner in the latter stages and held on for a sound second.
Ygritte raced outside the leader, challenged on turning for home but tired on that bid from the 100m to finish third.
Saddler's Lake was handy all the way and held on for fourth.
