Chabaud wins 2016 Ubet Sa Fillies Classic Group 3 $120,000 at Morphettville (SA) 3yoFillies, 2500m.
Chabaud was smartly away from her wide barrier (12) and settled well behind a very steady pace, racing in fourth place, one out and one back. She moved up (under riding) nearing the home turn, challenged at the 200m and then drew clear over the final stages to win comfortably, running the 2500m out well.
Ashlee Marie went to the front, slowed the mid-race pace before lifting the tempo from the 600m. She then battled well, only being overtaken at the 100m, holding on nicely for second.
High Lago settled well, beyond midfield (one off the rails) and was still well back nearing the home turn. She then came with a strong late run to grab third in a photo, putting up a smart effort.
The favourite Believe enjoyed a good run in third place, on the rails, but was suddenly under pressure nearing the home turn and just battled in the straight for (3.7 lengths) sixth in a disappointing effort.
