Silvera wins 2016 Goldin Farms M’ville Guineas Listed $100,000 at Morphettville (SA) 3yo, 1600m.
Silvera was slow to begin from barrier seven and drifted back to be equal last then last once the field settled. Passing the 1000m he moved off the fence but was still last and three wide. With 600m to run he raced very wide and was widest turning in. Running strongly, he ran past the beaten runners and looked to gather in the leaders, ranging alongside them at the 150m then edging his way to the front over the final few strides for a thrilling but narrow win.
Smart As You Think was midfield around the bend then made a sharp move, five wide, entering the last corner to be very handy. He took over at the 300m and then ran on well to the line, just going under in a head-bobber in the last few strides.
Ace Attack was fourth around the last corner, turned in four wide, sharing the lead then tried hard the length of the straight for a close third.
