Celebrity Dream wins 2017 Ascend Sales Trophies Classic Listed $100,000 at Ascot (WA), 1400m.
Recent winner of the Jungle Mist Classic (Listed, 1200m) at this track a fortnight ago, Celebrity Dream followed that with another smart stakes victory here, taking her record to seven wins (and four placings) from 14 starts.
She settled nicely in third place (on the rails), behind a very steady tempo (first 800m 51.33) but was blocked nearing the home turn. William Pike steered her through a gap at the 200m, she then hit the front at the 75m before going on to score comfortably.
Fontainebleau travelled well outside the leader (Patapus), challenged strongly at the 200m and then fought on well for second.
Top Of The Class raced in fourth place, one out and one back, moved up at the home turn, challenged the 300m and kept battling on well for third.
