Prussian Vixen wins 2018 Mypunter.Com Bellmaine Stakes Group 3 $150,000 at Caulfield (VIC), 1200m.
The $41 chance Prussian Vixen was a surprise first up winner. Having her first start since October she was quickly away and after leading early on, settled in second place before moving up on straightening. She went at the 200m and then fought back well, holding on to score by a half head.
Flippant raced in fourth place, improved coming to the home turn, moved up (under riding) at the 200m and gradually kept making ground to take a close second. Petition raced in eighth place, wide with cover, improved (deep) nearing the home turn and also kept responding to riding for a close up third.
Fragonard was seventh, between runners, got into clear running on turning for home and ran on quite well for (1.1 lengths) in a sound first up run while the favourite Silent Sedition raced in sixth place on the rails from her inside barrier (1), went to fourth at the 200m in restricted room and then battled on under top weight (59kg) for fifth, resuming here.
