Casino Wizard wins2018 Community Co Durbridge Stakes Listed $100,000 at Morphettville (SA), 1200m.
The eight-year-old Casino Wizard continues to race in good form, taking out his 16th win (with 14 placings) from 54 starts in scoring a really good win here. He was quickly away, went to the front, got a break on straightening and went on to score decisively and in smart time.
The favourite, the Victorian-trained mare Petrelle , winner of her only two prior starts, worked across from her wide barrier but could not head off the leader (Casino Wizard). She was under pressure at the home turn, yet stuck to her task and battled on well for second.
All About Nicci was back near last in the ten-horse field, got along the rails in the straight and battled on to take third.
