I’m A Rippa wins Tab George Moore Stakes Group 3 $200,000 at Doomben, 1200m.
I’m A Rippa followed his good first-up third in the Keith Noud Quality (Listed, 1200m) with a smart win here, his eighth win and his third stakes success in 29 starts. He was quickly away and soon crossed to the front. He then settled well, grabbed a break on turning for home and safely held his opposition to win well, dashing home in a fast 32.95 (last 600m).
His Tony Gollan-trained stablemate Most Important settled nicely outside of the leader and eventual winner (I’m A Rippa) and kept fighting gamely under his top weight (60.5kg) for a very good second.
The favourite Victorem was eased after being wide early on to settle at the tail of the eight-horse field, improved (deep) nearing the home turn and kept running on really well for a very good third.
Tyzone had a nice trip in fourth place, was under riding on straightening and kept battling on well to hold that position, beaten just under three lengths.
