Houtzen , having her first start since an unlucky sixth in the Manikato Stakes (Gr 1, 1200m) at Moonee Valley on October 26, proved far too good here. She was quickly away and had little difficulty in holding the front from the speedy Tarzan .
She dashed clear on turning for home and then went on to win impressively in quick time. Tycoon Ace settled back in fifth place, tracking a quick tempo, improved (between runners) at the home turn, went to third at the 200m and kept fighting on well to gain second in a photo.
Tarzan was smartly away and then raced outside the leader and eventual winner and did well in holding on for a good third.
