Previously twice stakes placed, Sultan Of Swing broke through at start 27 for his maiden stakes win and career win eight. He was last when they settled and remained last even when the field compressed approaching the 600m.

Jockey Jonathan Riddell pushed wide from the 500m but was still equal last when straightening. He accelerated when finding space and ran up to join the leader at the 200m then under pressure took over, was headed just short of the line but stretched his neck to get the long head win.

Magnum was fourth, three wide, at the 500m, grabbed the lead at the 300m, was caught and passed yet fought back to lead again but was nutted on the line.

Save The Date was widest and back turning in then kept on strongly to the line for third. Ugo Foscolo was a handy second with 300m remaining but was unable to lift, battling away for fourth.
