Classique Legend wins Arrowfield 3yo Sprint, Group 2 $1000,000 at Randwick, 1200m.
Highly-promising three-year-old Classique Legend took his record to three wins from four starts in stepping up in class to win this Group 2 race in good style.
Kerrin McEvoy elected to ride him patiently, settling back in seventh place (wide with cover), tracking a solid pace. He moved up well rounding the home turn, dashed to the front coming to the 100m and went on to score quite impressively.
Jonker settled behind the free-running leader (Sheriff), briefly got to the front at the 200m and then held on well for a good second.
Avantage raced in third place, one off the rails (without cover), behind a quick pace. She was under pressure at the home turn but kept fighting on well in the straight to take third.
Encryption raced in fifth place between runners, got into clear running at the 200m and battled on nicely for (2.2 lengths) fourth.
