Talented colt Dubious ,who started the season in winning the Breeders’ Plate (Gr 3, 1000m) at Randwick in September, continued his good juvenile form with a smart win here, his second at stakes level in six starts.

He was given a good trip by James McDonald in sixth place. He tracked through (behind Czarson) nearing the home turn, got to the front at the 100m and then went on to win well.

Czarson raced outside the leader (Kaoru King), went to the front in turning for home that then fought on gamely to dead-heat for second in a smart performance.

Strasbourg raced in fifth place on the rails, was shuffled back coming to the home turn, got a late split nearing the 100m and finished well to dead-heat for second, looking somewhat unlucky.

Garibaldi raced in eighth place, tracked up at the home turn, put in a bid from the 300m and kept running on to take fourth from Jagged Edge ,who battled on well for (2.1 lengths) fifth, with Disruptor making good late ground for (2.4 lengths) sixth.
