Tony Gollan-trained three-year-old Vega One has been in good form, now with two wins and two seconds from four starts this preparation.

After being sixth early on, he then got a good trip from his inside barrier (1) racing in fourth place on the rails, tracking a quick tempo, before getting through to second at the home turn. He hit the front at the 200m and then drew away to win comfortably by just over three lengths.

It was also a good ride by Blake Shinn. The favourite, the Godolphin-raced filly Multaja , settled well back in 11th place, made a wide move coming to the home turn and continued to make ground in the straight for second without looking likely to trouble the winner.

Mishani Hustler tracked the leader at a quick tempo and did quite well in holding on for third, while Racecourse Road , who set the fast pace, held on for fourth, albeit beaten almost six lengths.
