Invincibella wins Pages Event Hire Dane Ripper Group 2 $200,000 at Eagle Farm, 1400m.
Invincibella defended her win in this race a year ago (at Doomben) and took her record to ten wins including four at Group 2 level with a game effort here.
She settled second (rails) soon after the jump dropping back to third passing the 800m. With not much pace on jockey James McDonald held that spot to the straight entrance then moved out one lane to challenge at the 350m.
McDonald kept asking and slowly she caught the pacemaker at the 100m then held on gamely by a long head.
Platinum Angel sat fifth (one out) past the 800m, got a lovely split three out at the top of the straight but took a long time to wind up and although gaining on the winner, the post arrived too soon.
Prompt Response set a moderate pace and was a length clear at the 600m, tried to slip them at the 350m and was not collared until the 100m then fought on quite well to hold third from Noire who from third last at the top of the straight finished well to grab fourth late.
