Singapore Racing - Weekend Review : 4th and 6th October 2019

The Shane Baertschiger stable unearthed quite a promising type on Sunday with four-year-old Star Of Jupiter very impressive in his Singapore debut.

Formerly trained by Team Snowden [Old Name: Spin], the son of I Am Invincible displayed plenty of ability in his 15 starts, despite only notching up two wins.

He was group placed multiple times as a two-year-old and notably finished third in last year's Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes [1200m] behind Sesar.

He left Australian shores off a win and possesses a career peak rating of 111, when finishing fifth in the Group 1 Sires' Produce Stakes [1400m].

Admittedly his rating of 101 is a more relevant number given he achieved it four starts back.

His rating of 111 contains 12kg of WFA and until he produces that figure again, would use 101 as a stronger reference point.

Kicking off over 1000m, Star Of Jupiter had trialled well in the lead up and certainly wasn't missed by the market, sent out the $2.20 favourite.

Lining up off a 176 day break, Star Of Jupiter enjoyed a lovely run in transit, settled just off the speed.

Shuffled back approaching the turn, Duric didn't panic and let them go before picking his way through and getting to the outside.

Looming up ominously approaching the 200m, Star Of Jupiter put them away in a few strides, racing away to score by 2.5L.

One of the easiest wins you'll see, he looks to have him settled in well to his new surroundings and has a bright future ahead.

Rated 86 by Timeform, he has plenty of room to move on that figure and should be able to remain ahead of the handicapper, despite rising seven points.

At his best at 1200m, he is sure to improve with that run under his belt and also look forward to seeing him back on the turf.

The fact he has been able to perform so well on the polytrack is another tick as you know he can handle both surfaces.

Crack sprinter Aramco came over to Singapore off a similar ratings base and we've seen what Baertschiger has been able to achieve with him.

He is a very exciting horse and a must for your blackbook.
