Sartorial Splendour wins 1300 Australia Stakes, Group 3 $200,000 at Moonee Valley, 1200m.
Sartorial Splendour took his record to two wins and three placings from six starts in recording his first stakes success here.
He was smartly away from his good barrier (2) and went straight to the front. He then travelled well at a good tempo, grabbed at break on entering the straight and then when on to score decisively by almost two lengths.
Condo's Express raced in sixth place, one off the rails, improved (deep) rounding the home turn and then ran on nicely to take second.
Three Beans raced outside the leader and eventual winner (Sartorial Splendour) and held on well to take third in a promising effort at only his third race start.
Heyington Station settled in fifth place, on the rails, got along the inner at the home turn and then battled on nicely for (2.4 lengths) fourth.
