The Neville Parnham-trained filly Kay Cee, winner of the Burgess Queen Stakes (Listed, 1400m) here last month, stepped up to score in this Group 1 feature, her fourth win (with three placings) from eight starts to date.

She settled in fifth place on the rails from her inside barrier (1), got along the inner nearing the home turn, went to second at the 200m and then finished gamely under her light weight (50kg) to win well.

Gailo Chop worked across from his wide barrier to lead and then set quite a reasonable tempo before lifting the pace from the 600m.

He looked the winner when clear in the straight, only being caught nearing the post after conceding the winner 9kg. Best Of Days enjoyed a good run.

Midfield on the rails, he improved between runners at the home turn, went to fourth at the 200m and then kept running on nicely for third.

Superstorm settled beyond midfield, improved on the rails approaching the home turn and finished well for (1.8 lengths) fourth.

Gatting raced in third place, one off the rails, and kept fighting on in the straight for fifth.

Railway Stakes (Gr 1, 1600m) winner Regal Power settled towards the tail of the field and caught the eye with his lateclosing sixth.

The favourite Tuscan Queen was handy all the way and momentarily looked a threat at the home turn but she just battled from that point for seventh, her first unplaced run in five starts, seemingly being testing by the step up to 1800m here.
