Signore Fox wins Fugen Construction Razor Sharp, Listed, $140,000 at Randwick, 1200m.
In a keenly contested finish where the first six horses finished less than a length apart, the favourite Signore Fox did well in grabbing a last-stride win.
He was ridden quietly as usual and settled in second last place, on the rails, in the 11-horse field.
Tommy Berry eased him deeper and into clear running at the 300m where he was conceding the leaders about eight lengths, and he then sprinted quickly to snatch victory by the barest of margins.
The $50 outsider Oriental Runner went to the front, set a reasonable tempo, grabbed a break at the 200m only to be caught on the post for (short-half-head) second after running a bold race.
Glenall raced in sixth place but deep. He commenced his move nearing the 200m and then finished well for a very close third.
Multaja raced back in ninth place, loomed at the 100m and then fought well for fourth, beaten a half-length with Albumin (0.6 lengths) fifth after being prominent most of the way and Irithea (0.7 lengths) sixth after racing close to the pace, but three wide.
