Lilikoi wins Lawnmaster Eulogy Stakes, Group 3, NZ$70,000 at Awapuni, 1600m.
After two close seconds following her maiden win in September, Lilikoi broke through at start six for her maiden stakes win by a decisive length and three quarters.
She settled fourth, one out and one back past the 1200m. Off the back straight she held her position but moved closer from the 600m and turning in was poised to challenge.
Into the straight she ran up to co-lead then kicked clear at the 200m and was never going to be caught for an easy win.
Manchu led early then co-led before taking over again from the 1200m. She was caught at the 400m and by the winner at the 250m but never gave in to the line.
Showbeel was back last of the seven runners at the top of the straight then finished well to nab third on the line while Aalaalune had every chance and was caught late to finish fourth.
