Brisbane forward Lincoln McCarthy has been cited for striking and offered a $2000 fine by the AFL's match review officer.

McCarthy has been charged with striking Collingwood's Jordan Roughead in the Lions' one-point win at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.

AFL match review officer Michael Christian rated McCarthy's second-term strike to Roughead's body as intentional with low impact.

McCarthy has been offered a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea.
