Former Melbourne president Glen Bartlett will leave the Demons following a successful eight-year span that saw the club wipe out a $12.5 million debt.
Glen Bartlett has quit as a board member at Melbourne just months after stepping down from the presidency.
Bartlett left the presidency in April, with Kate Roffey taking over.
Melbourne went on to break their 57-year premiership drought in 2021, with Bartlett staying on as a board member.
The Demons revealed on Thursday that Bartlett has now decided to quit the board as well so he can focus on his family and business.
When Bartlett took over as president in August 2013, the club had a $12.5 million debt and their business model heavily relied on gaming machines.
The team had also just posted the fifth worst season in AFL/VFL history when they recorded a 2-20 campaign.
Bartlett played a key role in turning around the club's financial fortunes, with Melbourne now debt free and raking in the rewards from their premiership success.
Roffey was among the Demons' hierarchy to thank Bartlett for his service and wish him well.
