The charity game scheduled before the BBL final has been called off with heavy rains predicted in Sydney over the weekend.
The Bushfire Cricket Bash charity game scheduled to be played before for the BBL final has been cancelled.
Cricket Australia has confirmed that the Sydney Cricket Ground fixture will not go ahead on Saturday as the NSW capital braces for heavy rain.
The CA website reported that the decision was made in order to give the BBL final, scheduled to follow the charity match, the best chance to go ahead.
CA said it will explore further options for hosting a similar fundraiser.
The BBL decider will be played between the Sydney Sixers and the winner of Thursday night's match between the Stars and the Thunder in Melbourne.
There is no reserve day available for the BBL final and if the match is completely washed out hosts Sixers will be declared champions.
