Queensland--based challenger Dennis Hogan has been on the receiving end of an abusive rant from WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo at their weigh-in.

American Charlo (29-0, 21 KOs) unleashed a stream of invective at the Queensland-based Irish-born challenger Hogan (28-2-1, 7 KOs) at the weigh-in
"I fight for my family, I fight for my life, you're going to be fighting for your life tomorrow, boy," Charl said.
"Talk that shit tomorrow, you better be this f***ing bold tomorrow."
Charlo hurled some more abuse at Hogan, who had no idea what sparked the champion's behaviour.
"I don't understand, I know he got emotional and he started to carry on," Hogan said.
"It didn't bother me in the slightest, but I had a bit of fun with it."
Hogan, who dropped points decisions in two super welterweight title fights, will start the outsider.
Charlo will enjoy height and reach advantages of 10 and 13 centimetres, respectively.
Asked how he intended to beat a bigger man, 34-year-old Hogan said: "I'll just have to bring something no-one else has bought before and that's exactly what I intend to do."
