Changes for Jackaroos' Trans Tasman bowls

3 minute read

Australian bowls selectors have named a 10-strong Jackaroos contingent for the Trans Tasman Test series against New Zealand next year.

Australia's leading men's and women's bowlers will have another chance to press their claims for a world championships berth when they face New Zealand in a Trans Tasman Test series next year.

The 10-strong Jackaroos squad will face their Kiwi counterparts on the Gold Coast from February 3-5, in the lead-up to the 2020 world championships.

Changes have been made in the men's and women's contingents, after Australia's series whitewash last month.

Kelsey Cottrell has been reinstated in the singles while former Jackaroos captain Lynsey Clarke is set to partner Rebecca Van Asch in the pairs - after dual Commonwealth Games gold medallist Carla Krizanic declared herself unavailable.

In the men's five, Wayne Ruediger returns to the fold in both the Triples and Fours, with the South Australian the only personnel change in the team.

A slight change in the combinations sees Corey Wedlock move to lead in the pairs alongside Aaron Wilson, with Aaron Teys to slot into the triples and fours to resume his partnership with Aron Sherriff.

The 2020 World Bowls Championships will be held at three Gold Coast clubs - Broadbeach Bowls Club, Musgrave Hill Bowls Club and Club Helensvale - from May 23-June 7.
