LNP member Llew O'Brien has been injured in a motorbike crash in Brisbane.

Queensland federal MP Llew O'Brien is recovering in hospital after a motorbike crash.

There are reports he suffered skull and spinal fractures in the crash at a racetrack in north Brisbane.

It's believed he was riding with friends on Saturday morning when he came off his bike at Lakeside Raceway in Kurwongbah.

The member for Wide Bay told his facebook followers he would have to wear a neck brace for six weeks, according to the media reports.

"Not sure how that's going to go chairing parliament," he posted.

Queensland Transport Minister Mark Bailey said in a twitter post that he was sorry to hear about the crash and wished Mr O'Brien "all the best for a full and speedy recovery".

Rescue choppers were dispatched on both Saturday and Sunday to another two motorbike crashes at a motocross park in the Scenic Rim.
