Predictions of how the NRL's ladder, young guns and leading stars will look in 2021.

2021 NRL SEASON FORECAST:

ROOKIES TO WATCH:

Sam Walker: Won't get first shot at the Sydney Roosters' No.6 jersey but it seems only a matter of time until his chance comes. Has been heralded as a star of the future since his mid-teens in Queensland and impressed in his first senior trial against Canberra last week. Is the Roosters' long-term option in the halves.

Daine Laurie: There's a reason why Wests Tigers wanted to get Daine Laurie from Penrith early. Super quick on his feet, Laurie's subtle movements and change of direction will give the Tigers the x-factor they have so desperately needed at fullback for the past three years. An early favourite for rookie of the year.

Cody Ramsey: Teased St George Illawarra fans with his talent last year but should get a full year of opportunities in 2021. Scored two tries playing on the wing in his debut against Canberra last year and could move to fullback at some point this year under Anthony Griffin.

DALLY M CONTENDERS:

James Tedesco: It's scary to think how damaging Tedesco could be through the middle of the field under this year's rules. Has led the NRL for linebreaks for the past three years and it's hard to see that changing in 2021.

Cameron Munster: All eyes are on Cameron Munster in Melbourne following the retirement of Cameron Smith. He is desperate to win a title with the next crop of Storm stars.

Nathan Cleary: Showed just how good he can be last year in Penrith's streak of 17 straight wins on the way to the grand final. His control of the game went to another level and he was among the Dally M front-runners beaten by Jack Wighton last year.

Harry Grant: Cameron Smith picked up two Dally Ms wearing the No.9 jersey in Melbourne and there is every sign Grant could follow his lead. Was sensational last year on loan at the Tigers and he'll be crucial to the Storm's chances.

Latrell Mitchell: If Charity Shield form is anything to go by South Sydney look as dangerous as ever this year. Mitchell looked like he was just hitting his straps at fullback when he went down injured last year and it's hard to see him going backwards in 2021.
