Corey Norman will reprise his rugby league career in the English Super League after signing for French club Toulouse Olympique.

After failing to earn a new NRL contract at the end of last year, 31-year-old Norman pulled the plug on his career in December and claimed he was no longer keen to play and over it all.

However that retirement lasted just five months, unveiled as the French club's new signing on Wednesday night.

"I can't wait to join the club and meet the whole team, coaches and supporters," Norman said in a statement.

"This represents a good opportunity and at the same time a challenge for me."

Norman played 228 NRL games for Brisbane, Parramatta and St George Illawarra and in one State of Origin match for Queensland, but never truly reached his potential.

Toulouse sit last in their first season in the Super League, having won just one of their opening nine games.
