The Joeys secured a place in the knockout stage with a 2-1 victory over Nigeria at the Estadio Bezerrao in Brasilia to finishing third in Group B behind the Africans and Ecuador.

France topped Group C with three wins against Korea Republic, Chile and Haiti.

The Joeys match against the French kicks off at 1000 AEDT on Thursday at the Stadio da Serrinha with the winners advancing to a quarter-final showdown against Spain or Senegal next week.
