Rodd Back In Town For Rising Romance

Michael Rodd will be back in Melbourne on Saturday to partner Rising Romance in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

The Melbourne Cup-winning jockey is currently based in Singapore, where he is running third in the jockey’s premiership.

Rising Romance resumes in the Memsie in her first run for David Hayes and Tom Dabernig.

The mare hasn’t been seen in Melbourne since running sixth to Happy Trails in the Mackinnon Stakes, following her second to Admire Rakti in the Caulfield Cup.

Rising Romance last raced when second to Scratchy Bottom in the Epona Stakes at Rosehill.

Rodd has so far secured two mounts on the big Caulfield card for Leon and Troy Corstens including promising mare Vezalay.

Vezalay, an impressive winner of an 1100 metre mares race at Caulfield when resuming earlier this month, lines up in the Group 3 William Hill Sprint Series Heat 1 Stakes (1200m).

Rodd has also been booked to ride Mr Individual for Team Corstens on in the Group 3 HDF McNeil Stakes.
