In-form galloper Shoot Out can become the first Queenslander in almost 20 years to win today's Group 1 Turnpoint Royal Randwick Guineas (race 6) at Randwick.The late Bruce McLachlan was the last Queenslander to prepare the winner of the race with St Jude in 1991 starting a 4/1 chance with Brian York in the saddle.Shoot Out, prepared by John Wallace on the Gold Coast, will probably start a shade shorter, given his excellent form this time in and he looks the one to beat as he steps up to a mile.
