  • This race used to be run during the Cox Plate festival but was switched in 2013.

  • 2007 winner Miss Marielle would end winning a Hill Stakes and a Craven Plate and has since produced the ill-fated Coolmore Classic winner Peeping.

  • Ike’s Dream was the winner in 2003 and would later win the G1 Queen Of The Turf and G2 Villiers Stakes.

  • In 1999 Miss Pennymoney took the prize and a few months later won the G1 Australia Stakes (now back to the Manikato Stakes) and the Newmarket Hcp.
