Dean Yendall has been booked to ride Unchain My Heart who is on the cusp of gaining a start in the Melbourne Cup.

Yendall will partner the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained mare if she gains a start in the 3200m feature.

Unchain My Heart is officially 25th in the latest order of entry for the Melbourne Cup however with confirmation The Offer will not contest the race, finds herself in the final field at this stage.

Two horses could potentially leapfrog the eight-year-old on Saturday though with the winner of both the Lexus Stakes and Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington on Saturday gaining automatic entry into the Melbourne Cup three days later.

If Unchain My Heart does make the final field, it would be Yendall’s second ever ride in the Melbourne Cup after partnering Niwot into eighth during the 2011 renewal.
