Leading Victorian owner Lloyd Williams has bought into three high profile Aidan O’Brien-trained Melbourne Cup entries including St Leger winners Order Of St George and Bondi Beach.

Williams will race Irish St Leger winner Order Of St George, Bondi Beach, winner of the English equivalent at Doncaster, and Kingfisher in partnership with his son Nick and Ireland’s Coolmore Stud syndicate.

Nick Williams confirmed that Coolmore had accepted a part ownership offer for highly-rated trio.

They will remain in the care of Aidan O’Brien with the deal an indication that all three could now travel to Australia for the spring carnival.

The three horses need to enter quarantine on Thursday if they are to be starters in the $6 million Melbourne Cup at Flemington on November 3 but O’Brien is yet to make any announcement regarding his Australian plans.

Order Of St George has 54kg in the Melbourne Cup but was considered to be an unlikely Melbourne Cup runner after his 11 lengths win in the Irish St Leger at the Curragh last week.

Bondi Beach, who has 52.5kg in the Melbourne Cup, has never finished further back than second in five starts, the most recent when he was promoted to first after a protest in the English St Leger at Doncaster on September 12.

Kingfisher was well beaten behind Order Of St George in the Irish St Leger after finishing second to another Melbourne Cup entry Trip To Paris in the Ascot Gold Cup at Royal Ascot in June.

Kingfisher has 53kg in the Melbourne Cup.

Lloyd Williams, one of Australia’s most successful property developers, has owned or partnered in four Melbourne Cup winners Just A Dash, What A Nuisance, Efficient and Green Moon.

He currently has the 2013 Caulfield Cup winner Fawkner leading his extensive spring carnival team, made up largely of horses he has purchased from Europe.
