No Melbourne Cup for Silent Achiever

Silent Achiever has come through her Cox Plate run in good shape but will not continue on to the Melbourne Cup.

Trainer Roger James spoke with owner Kevin Hickman on Sunday morning and confirmed the six-year-old has run her last race for the spring and will return to New Zealand to prepare for an autumn campaign.

"She’s come through it pretty well. She knew she’d had a run afterwards that’s for certain but she’s good this morning, as good as you could hope for after running her heart out yesterday,” James said.

Silent Achiever finished a gallant third behind Adelaide and Fawkner on Saturday and James took an enormous amount of satisfaction out of the race.

"It’s a huge relief really, I thought it is quite probably her best ever run,” he said.
