Bombay Bazaar was not the quickest exiting the starting stalls but still showed plenty of speed during the first two furlongs with the field of six tightly packed.

Winning jockey Oisin Orr managed to find cover onboard the Richard Fahey trained colt tracking the leading line of four.

He had to nudge away briefly but when the colt met the rising ground, he soon was travelling well and was catching the eye.

Under pressure inside the final 2f, he picked up when switched to the outside and coming down the centre of the course he pegged back rivals winning by three-quarters of a length.

Oisin Orr spoke to ITV Racing following the success:

"I was on my head on the first half of the race but at halfway I thought I switch, and I was always going to get there.

"He's done everything nicely there and he's improving."

Winning trainer Richard Fahey who recorded a double on the card added:

"Little disappointed myself where I saw him [in the parade ring before the race] but look, he's a homebred horse, improving the whole time, physically he'll get better.

"I'm just delighted for the owner, breeder. It will be a good day for him.

"They didn't look a bad bunch of horses, ours probably wasn't the standout in the parade ring but he went and did the job well.

"Today is another big step up. I'd say the owner will be keen to go to Ascot, so we'll sit down and have a think… Windsor Castle and things like that, even the Coventry something like that. We'll speak to the team."

"We have a good bunch of two-year-olds this year, very very lucky this year. Some pretty smart horses there and plenty still to run. Exciting year for us, I'm really enjoying it at the moment."

Bombay Bazaar is around 25/1 for the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot on day one of the meeting and 20/1 for the Windsor Castle, the following day.

The son of Kodiac was a good debut third at Thirsk over 5f in April where the form has worked out well before winning over the same journey at Beverley last month.

The course and distance form a possible big help today for this two-year-old who could be Royal Ascot bound.
