3 minute read

The opening Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap (Class 5) at Wolverhampton on Tuesday was voided following an incident shortly after coming out of the stalls that saw Dane O'Neill take nasty looking fall onboard Eagle Eye Tom.

The Charlie Hills-trained three-year-old seemed to stumble before clipping heels causing Dane O'Neill to unseat just yards into the opening contest.

Officials acted quickly and instructed jockeys to pull up their mounts in order to allow O'Neill to continue receiving medical attention in the centre of the track.

Dane O'Neill was stretchered off the course and assessed in an ambulance before being taken to hospital.

Sky Sports Racing's on-track reporter Jason Weaver informed viewers that O'Neill was "conscious throughout".
