RANDWICK PARLAY

RACE 4 (11) BELLA SUCCESS: This mare won her only previous start over 1400m and she has been crying out to get back to that distance in her five runs this campaign over shorter trips that have produced three luckless placings. Can readily give her another chance after her last start sixth over 1200m at this course two weeks ago when she got too far back and raced wide before finishing off gamely. Well placed dropping to the limit weight and happy to see Kerrin McEvoy stick with her after that last excusable effort.

RACE 5 (9) TREKKING: Runs his best races fresh and is primed to go to a new level this campaign after an impressive trial win at Randwick on July 30. He looked a better horse in his two starts last campaign after being gelded that included a soft win over 1100m at Warwick Farm under 57.5kg and I doubt the Godolphin team could have found a more suitable race for him first-up with just a kilo over the limit. Worth noting he placed twice in strong Group company behind the likes of Trapeze Artist and Menari when first-up in the past.

RACE 7 (6) EMPEROR”S WAY: Appeals as the value play of the day at his third start since resuming as he steps up to this suitable distance after solid conditioning efforts over 1400m and 1500m when he has had excuses. He won five of his six starts before his spell over distances from 1600m to 2000m and the right signs were there last start when he made late ground out wide after a quiet ride at the back of the field. He’s won third-up and goes well for Andrew Adkins, his rider in his Listed success over 2000m at Randwick at the end of his last campaign.
