The Brazilian veteran is back in Australia after an ill-fated stint in Thailand and Iran and is keen to rejoin the club where he won three A-League championships.

The 32-year-old would be available as a free agent and after acquiring Australian citizenship will not be counted as an import.

However, Aloisi says the Roar will not offer him a contract due to fitness concerns.

"Ricky's produced so much joy for the Roar and our supporters," he said on Thursday.

"Even in the first season I was here, he was coming back from an ACL injury and he did exceptionally well for us, and for me in particular.

"It was a pity that he ended up leaving - I think he regrets it now.

"But he hasn't played since June, so it's definitely not on for this season because by the time we get him to the level of fitness (required), the season's over.

"Who knows what holds for him in the future."

Henrique spent eight seasons with the Roar after initially signing with the club in 2009, while also playing 13 matches for Adelaide United during the 2016-17 campaign.

He is likely to turn to state-league football in the interim and is understood to be in talks with at least one NPL Queensland side.
